I disagree, there are lots of different groups that he can apologize on the behalf of.....

Al Qaeda
Wahabi Mullahs
Muslims
Men
Saudis
Arabs

Although, I am in the school that you only apologize on the behalf of another if you actually belong to a generalized group in common.

If a man raped a woman, you (kholt) would not say to that woman "I apologize on the behalf of all men for the crime that was committed against you"

however

You could say "I apologize on the behalf of all humankind for the crime that was committed against you."

From my list above, the only group that I could apologize on the behalf of is "men", since I don't fit into any of the other categories.

Aw come on, Karen, you're making up these rules as you go.

Solon wants me to apologize for dropping the A-bomb. I was only 11 years old at the time. That just doesn't seem fair, does it?

How come you can blame all the Americans, or all the Canadians, but you can't blame all the Muslims for something done in the name of Allah? How come they get off with nothing?

At this rate, I'm never going to get that post off.
