You're talking gibberish. "puppy"? You are making my point. I do not expect ANY message board using this business model to profit. Using which business model. I've lost track. I thought you were saying that if a board charges money or displays ads, it'll go bust. My point was that unless a board does, it'll go bust. You seemed to be maintaining that the only way for a board to be "successful" is to be completely free. Free of cost and free of ads. I maintain that a "free" board will only survive at the pleasure of its deep-pocketed owner. Whose pockets will get shallower going that route. Since you assert that a board can run on altruism, I suggest you put your good intentions where your mouth is and fire one of them bad boys up. I'm sure you can find equally altruistic people to give you hardware, software, bandwidth, and a whole lotta free hours customizing and configuring. And Usenet? Gimme a break. Last I checked, the newsgroups were even worse than Yahoo. But they work for some people. More power to them. you will either have to explain or apologize to me for that remark. Oh, come off it. Like I don't know that "lash out then pretend to be the innocent victim" bit. I've dealt with people who were really good at it. You're not one of them. No sale. To anyone, I expect. Or maybe your comments about power-hungry dim-wits as admins was high praise? Just can't figure out what your trip is these days. And I used to think you were pretty cool.
