You cannot simply move the Cu+SOI process development to Austin, a fab that is not at all prepared for Cu and is also in the process of being converted to flash.

I have to wonder why not? If R&D is limiting the output of F30 as some here suggest then AMD would be well served to do it's development elsewhere. People here claim F25 is underutilized so it only makes sense to free F30 to pump out AMD's moneymaker. I never really bought the process development at F30 claim anyway because AMD has a development fab in Santa Clara.

The bulk and SOI .13µm processes are being "refined", if nothing else, at Dresden. This takes wafer starts. How many? *shrug*

I shrug too but I think my shrug is a lot smaller than the Droids shrug.
