Intel is going to be very angry with CompUSA

Check out Page 7:
compusa.com

Athlon XP systems at

1500+ for $1299
1800+ for $1649
1900+ for $1989

Intel paid good money to get CompUSA to remove AMD desktop products from its shelves, now CompUSA takes that money and uses it to advertise Athlon XP systems for direct ship.

It's infuriating! (even if, technically, it doesn't violate the terms of the agreement).

Harvey, Re: Saw some big scores on overclockers.com forums. Now I know what I'm up against.

I don't think I'll ever beat them so I don't even try. ;-) Im very content with my current combo (1.0 GHz AXIA at 1.4 GHz and KT133A motherboard) so I'll wait until Thoroughbred comes out before upgrading to XP and DDR. Unfortunately my GF2MX died recently (and suddenly) so I have to look for a new card (had to plug my old Voodoo 3 in). Maybe I'll go for a GF3Ti200... That should improve 3DMark '01 a lot.

Best wishes for '02 and let's hope AMD keeps us busy with new CPU releases... <g>
