BTW, I'm getting close to the opinion that the Fed pumping is necessary in their minds to prevent deflation. I also agree that with the present overcapacity, low commodity prices, and slow growth, it is not going to be a major inflationary factor.

If you look back into Steve's thread, I think you will find that 2388 was my secondary target high for the Post April lows ( was short a little on that one). The "genesis" of that number is a little to complex to expound on it here (g). In general, next year fit within my very long term model (presented I believe in April of 2000), LTBH will not work too well unless you are extremely adept at selecting your winners and disciplined at weaning out your losers fast.
