Rick,
I think we should go with last trade. With the after hours trading now, most MM pull their "real" bid/ask and leave a wild range just in case some unsuspecting trader wants to act on a "wild rumor" and place a market order thinking they will get a price shown at the close.

Thats what I meant to say :>) "Best ask as of the close of trading of the principal market for the security, or other recognized excange, excepting ...."

"Last trade" is a whole lot simpler to go with. Thanks
for pointing that out before we got really going.
