<<My guess is that you and I are thinking of the same car. The Honda EV+?>>

I guess so . I was told about it from a friend . I note that the story gave a range of 120 for the EV+...Seems to me I thought that the car was supposed to run indefinitely as long as one switched over to gas when the battery ran out then back when charged.

I saw a RAV4 electric parked in the supermarket electric charging station a while back and waited for the owner to ask some questions but had to leave ..It looked good just like a regular gas guzzler.

I too drive a PU full of tools and drive the terro checkers nuts [ when I go to the GYM underground parking in a large building ] they ask to look in the tool box full of chisels, utility knives screwdrivers and assorted sharp stuff. Then ask if I have any knives there.....

<<It's a pain to park and often it's an ordeal to convert it from work use to more general use. Always full of tools, extra fuel, parts, etc.>>

The city version of that is left over fast food and bags, empty coke (and other) cans, water bottles, a few bottles of aspirin, the more potent bottle under the front seat that has been there for two+ years without being touched, last week's (and sometimes months) newspapers, a couple of umbrellas, a few dozen message slips, the cords for charging the cell phone and for the ear plug -- among other things.......

Weird, I just talked to my brother in law today...

He got a new Toyota....Gas-Electric Car...He says it gets 54 mph... highway...Has an electric engine and 1.5 liter? engine side by side under the hood...(he says it self charges as you drive it)

(about the same size as a corolla)...he says it's like a glorified golf cart when you start it up...(there are no gears..it's like driving a boat ..'hit it!')....
It tops out about 80 mph..?

Fills up the tank for 8-9 dollars.

He loves it so far...Has only had it a couple weeks.
