I vote for what is easiest for those doing all the bookeeping work

so for the contest 12/31 is fine if that entails less work

for the z port 2002
use the balance we ended with. not a limit per person

as to the shorts you will need to adjust the cash balance calculation so the short $$'s do not double add to what is available

BWAC--your comment on some of the stocks I bought on Monday....they all have very strong balance sheets, are close to 52 week lows and have earnings projections for next year and 2003 way above the average stock. Will they be the best market performers around? I have no idea. Nor does anyone else. I just want small-caps that in my opinion are financially sound have decent growth prospects and are now cheap on a relative basis.
