I assume that you hold no position in intel because the above applies to intel just as much as amd.

while amd had some delays in their roadmap over the last few years yet it was very consistent. 3 years ago ML stated that Intel's strength ( vs amd) is it's solid roadmap. Intel experience delays and considerable changes to the roadmap in the last few years.

re: How long does it take a company to gain "acceptance".

I guess the answer to that is as long as it takes just as long as there is a progress. Over the last few years amd showed considerable progress.
