Andreas,

ONtheMove: Analyst says AMD saw strong finish to Q4

biz.yahoo.com

Key points:

- Strong finish

- Strength to continue to Q1 due to solid Athlon demand

- ASP rose sharply, much more than expected

- Visibility improved into Q1 with units sequentially flat or up slightly (despite the fact that Q1 is normally weaker)

- Continued low inventory

- Flash still weak; Q4 will mark the bottom

I think the real bomb is that in Q1 units will be flat or even up slightly.

Peter

EDIT:
PS: It seems I'll have to update my estimates in the EPS contest.

Andreas,

co is likely to split microprocessor and flash units into separate organizations.

It's about time. Two companies would be better (or is that what they mean?).
