Sounds like the newspaper had a good idea. Last summer a neighborhood in town nixed becoming an historical area. They agreed to take suggestions but that was as far as it got.

Buildings from the 30s and 40s ripen to become historical given time. But I too know firsthand the problems preservationists can cause a property owner.
