Brian,
Call Dell and see what they say. 'Required' for calling tech support is a speaker phone.
That way you can be doing stuff at the PC while you're waiting for them to get to you
without having to have the phone to your ear.

Although a slow running clock could signal a weak battery, other things could cause this, including; anti-virus software, screen savers and system utilities.
