I owned and followed KM a few years ago. Made about a triple on them and then realized they were their own worst enemy. With WMT as an alternative and the blood on the floors of KM from them shooting themselves in the foot all the time it's easy to see how their troubles got this large IMO.

Having shopped recently in a KM, I can see why they're having trouble. The stores are unattractive, merchandise is arranged poorly and the help is next to worthless. I'd much rather spend my hard-earned dollars at Target (No WM Emporiums nearby).

WMT has been eating KM's lunch for years...The best competitor that WMT has been, imo, TGT:

siliconinvestor.com

They've managed to differentiate sufficiently from WMT. Their buyers do an awesome job and their marketing has been excellent, too.
