Z that was the poorest answer, it wasn't even close to what I've been discussing for days.

I guess you're not ready for my type of debate.

Thank you for trying though.

M.

What do we really know about why things work. We may understand how it's but you've not answered me with respect to why it works.

Sure- for instance, the principle of survival of the fittest helps to describe why beings evolve the way they do.

Z, so you are saying that survival of the fittest is the reason for evolution? Does this in your view explain why there is no deity at work in our development, or for that matter, that there is no deity period?

Of course. We are all products of "natural selection." You should thank Darwin every day that you weren't "naturally selected."

By the way, here are the top four "natural selectors" of the 20th century (thanks Yousef):

1) Uncle Joe
2) Herr Hitler
3) Chairman Mao
4) Pol Pot

" the principle of survival of the fittest helps to describe why beings evolve the way they do."

The problem with that phrase is that it is so vague as to be useless. Since the only ones that get to pass on their genes are the ones that breed, anything that keeps that from happening defines that individual as unfit. But that could be anything from a lack of understanding of the importance of hygiene or a driving need to win every argument, to a lack of a heart or a cerebellum...
