Yet, Microsoft has made no announcement for the support of x86-64. When they do - then I'll be worried. However, I simply don't see it the way you do.

Microsoft is busy with other stuff that is much more important than a mere "64-bit" marketing label. Think, what is one very important feature that modern PCs lack these days?
