I believe you're right about the Enron pension plan. And too, don't folks usually have the option to change investment vehicles at least once a year and don't pension plans offer a variety of investment forms including money market and/or bonds. Sure they do. I do think many Enron employees did very well and looked forward to doing better. As many of us who invested in tech stocks (ouch) have known for a couple of years, the stock market is risky. I'm not feeling all that sorry for the Enron employees.

One issue is that when they participated in the 401K they were forced to include Enron stock.
