<XAU - The big Picture>

VT, Agreed. I believe their will be several opportunities to book profits and re-enter once the XAU breaks out.

The primary focus of my current strategy is to make certain I am on-board with CORE positions for the initial substained move. (ie: Jan 1993 through Jun 1993).

bigcharts.marketwatch.com

(Edit - My link did not come over, Daily chart for XAU between 1/1993 and 1/1994 with BBands; Macd and RSI as indicators in window 2 and 3)

Looking at the daily for 1993 through 1994, 80% of the gain in total value for the period was made during the initial surge (Macro Trend).

Knowing I have a strong habit of taking profits early, I intend to play and trade the macro trend once the XAU does in fact breakout. Still looking at proposed strategies, but intend to focus on base (RSI, MACD)indicators with a very simplistic approach. The goal being to catch a similar Jan to Jun uptrend; reshuffle the PF/book profits and be in posiiton to re-enter an October to Jan 1994 "Second Wave".

Thanks for posting your chart.

With very bad COT numbers, low lease rates, and an impending auction, the gold complex should drop sharply soon, IF the rules of of the past 7 years still apply. But if these rules are no longer operative, we could see a big jump in short order.

POG and the XAU cannot remain where they are for more than a few days IMHO. A big move is coming shortly. My guess is a severe shakeout followed by a surge. But anything can happen in this market.
