DUV Laser Stocks from the Bull Sector:

Semiconductor Circuit Designs are growing ever smaller demanding extremely high resolution to project circuit designs on Silicon Wafers. Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) Lasers are emerging as an important technology allowing companies to reach smaller resolution levels. Presently only three companies make DUV laser: Cymer (CYMI), Coherent (COHR) division Lambda Physik and Komatsu (KMTUY). DUV technology produces less than 25% of the wafer layers today but those numbers are expected to rapidly increase. You might want to check back with our broad based Semiconductor List.

I picked up this research note on Friday about Cymer:

8:55AM Cymer (CYMI) 32.12: Morgan Stanley says CYMI is possibly the best revenue andearnings power story this cycle with the beginning of the "golden age" of DUV lithography; firm ups price target to $50 from $35, but says that with earnings power of $4.00 or more, a $100 stock price target is possible

After quickly looking at the chart I found the stock too overbought to chase. So I got to looking over the limited world of DUV Laser companies and found Coherent may offer equally good potential for gains during this cycle:

I would consider COHR a good buy at 27.50 and CYMI at 25 so they need to fall a bit to offer safer entry points in my opinion. I have no position in either stock. I just wanted to open up some discussion on DUV Laser stocks if anyone knows something about other companies involved with this technology I am all ears.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the nice note.

I do greatly appreciate your spread sheets. My computer skills, although growing are very modest at best so forgive me if I'm presumptuous about any additional work load.

It appears to me that you have a very knowledgeable attendance on this thread. Would it be easiest(and perhaps very profitable) to simply create a second edition of new/upstart companies.

If we harnessed everyone's sleuthing skills we might find a small cap tier of companies that could well outperform the traditional GORILLAS???

Just a thought and I throw it out there to see if it has any interest or value.

Thanks again.

Bob
