Comb, all articles I've read have stated hammer would be from 2.0Ghz to 2.5Ghz on debut. Hard to know with that range, but the IPC will be much improved.

I wasn't necessarily agreeing with Paul's interpretation of the roadmap. I think the one you posted seems reasonable. AMD probably won't have new releases waiting at the turn of each quarter, but I don't see why they would miss the deadlines entirely. Still, they may need SOI to get past 1.93GHz, as their roadmap suggests, and the status for that, as well as the potential benefits, is still up in the air. Meeting all the dates on this roadmap is going to require some perfect execution on AMD's part. Maybe they'll be able to do this, but then again, that's a lot to ask for any company. Thus, some might consider this roadmap aggressive. I'll leave that to your own interpretation, though. Either way, this doesn't change what I said in my previous post. wbmw
