Tim, I will accept the relatively small amounts of civilians killed in Afghanistan because of human or mechanical error as no military campaign can achieve perfection, and I totally support our efforts to squash as many terrorist elements as possible, but I will never support us becoming the terrorists as was the case at the end of the war with Japan in WWII.
By the way, the group that attacked me was organized, and I was in fear of life and limb for an extended period of time after the attack. It was my own personal 911 in a way. I was afraid, but held my head up high -- and survived. When they could not knock me down with their punches and sticks, I just walked away as they stood there in shock. Perhaps that is why they never attacked me again. After I was several blocks away, I broke down and cried.... I was extremely brave, but my heart was broken as the blood flowed from my mouth and head....
