At least American Indians now have the Indian Nations Reservations. The think the Mexican-American War was a bit more offensive against a recognized government.

Rich,

Throughout history there has been a struggle (war) for land and resources as people of similar races, ethnic backgrounds, religions and/or ideology have attempted to establish themselves. I will not argue the point that countless people have been hurt, displaced or destroyed during that struggle. However, as you look at history land borders have changed so many times it is difficult or impossible to claim anything you don't currently have possession of.

My point is, as we move into the 21st century border disputes should be settled by negotiation not war. Unless you think that since the U.S. acquired some of it's territory by less than "democratic means" that the strongest nations should continue to go out and just take what they feel they are historically entitled to? You probably don't think that way but since you can be such a wiseass I thought you'd appreciate the sarcasm.

Actually, most of the US was not occupied by anyone. It also seems that the Indians may well have stolen the parts of the US they did occupy from someone else. The Russians did not occupy much of Russian north of Moscow for a long time and they stole that from the Swedes who stole it from the - you get the drift, I hope.
