It simply doesn't follow that military toughness leads to more misery and suffering. Military toughness and the willingness to stand up on short order saves lives. Why is it so many think otherwise? Why is it that 50 years of Israeli military toughness has not ended Palestinian violence? Why is British toughness met with more IRA terrorism? If you think these circumstances are isolated events, go back and read world history from the dawn of time. There is a rhythm to our madness.
