Tiger Paw, I have never complained about property taxes, so you must have misread my post, or put your own spin on it. All I ask of the property taxing authority, is that they be fair in their assessment of the value of any property in question.

You brought up the taxes that were intended to pay off the National debt soon after the revolution. You failed to mention that the debt incurred, that the tax was intended to pay off, was generated by the Revolutionary War. It was a tax on whiskey. In today's language, those taxes levied on items such as alcohol, cigarettes, etc. are called "sin" taxes. The term was not invented by me, and has been in common use for a long time.

The warped thinking came from your misconception thatthe usual taxes were established back during those times, when the were not. Your attempt to, constantly, twist words to fit what you want to believe, however flawed, it may be, is an indication of your warped, and flawed, thinking.
