Hawk, Israel is our ally. Anyone who doesn't believe that allied nation-states will sometimes act against each other if they perceive a sufficiently great national interest is at stake, is just being naive. I just wonder a) what motive the Israelis would have had to sink the Liberty on purpose (it must have been a large one), and b) why everybody keeps bringing it up now. I mean, I'm sure we can find some incidents where France or Britain acted against our interests too, especially if you look in war zones. But who talks about them?
