Historically, Jews and Muslims have always lived together in peace... and persecuted together... just look at Spain's history.

No, not always. Sometimes yes, as in Spain long ago, but remember, Muslim culture was more tolerant 700 years ago than it is today. Jews in Muslim lands live under the dhimmi laws, which basically make them subject to custom and the whim of the local ruler since they don't have protection of law like the Muslims.

Treatment of the Jews in the Arab lands in the 19th and 20th centuries generally varied from not-so-bad to terrible. Sometimes they were okay, sometimes they were okay if Jim Crow segregation is your idea of okay, sometimes they were persecuted and driven out.

??????????????

Spain's history is, whoever had the biggest army persecuted everyone else. In God's name, of course. In 1492, when Columbus was beginning the looting of the New World, the Catholic Monarchs of Castile and Aragon gave their Jews and Muslims a choice: convert, or die. Spain hasn't had any religious wars since then, none of the sectarian warfare that Ireland and the Balkans and Lebanon have been having for centuries. Ethnic cleansing has been going on for a long, long time. A simple, and final, solution.
