Pat,

the dialpad applet was not there.

I wasn't sure whether the download had actually started but didn't successfully finish or whether is never started downloading. Since the applet was not there, the download probably never started. If it had started to download, the View Object screen would have shown a status of something other than "Installed", probably "Not Installed" or "Damaged".

I also saw your posting that you tried to download dialpad using Netscape, but that your computer froze. You might want to try this again, but terminate all running task (except Explorer and Systray) before downloading. Press Alt-Ctrl-Delete, select a running task and press "End Task". Repeat this until all tasks (except Explorer and Systray) are ended. Then use Netscape to download dialpad. After the download completes, reboot your computer.

Do you have Power Management running on your computer? If you do, then it is possible that Power Management is placing your computer in stand-by mode, which would look like your computer is freezing up. You can check your Power Management settings by starting the Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel), double click on "Power Management". The "Power schemes" should be set to "Always On". If not, select "Always On" and click on the "Apply" button, then "OK". After completing the download you can reset your Power Scheme to what you want.

Finally, if you do successfully download dialpad, after you reboot your computer, it might be wise to run a Virus scan, just to be safe.

Hope this helps.
