dayniteshadow,

How does one add an icon to upper toolbar in Explorer; ie. shortcut to Word. Thanks again.

I assume you mean Windows Explorer rather than IE. In Windows 98, the upper part of the taskbar is from shortcuts in the folder C:\Windows\Start Menu You could just create one and put it there. Windows has a utility for adding them:

(From Windows Help)

To add a program to the Start or Programs menu

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar & Start Menu.
Click the Start Menu Programs tab.
Click Add, and then click Browse.
Locate the program you want to add, and then click it.
Click Next, and then double-click the menu on which you want the program to appear.
Type the name that you want to see on the menu, and then click Finish.
If Windows prompts you to choose an icon, click one, and then click Finish.

You can add it to the top toolbar or the Quick Launch toolbar at the bottom left of your screen. The easiest way is to go to Start/Program Files/and right-click your Microsoft Word entry. Hold the right mouse button down and drag it down to the Quicklaunch toolbar and let it hover right between any two of the icons already there until you see a black line. Release the mouse button and choose copy here from the menu. To put it on the upper toolbar you have to make a links toolbar (if it's not already there) by right-clicking an empty portion of the toolbar and put a check mark next to links. This will add a links toolbar and then you can follow the same steps outlined above to add shortcuts to whatever program you need. You can also drag the shortcut up to favorites and let it hover there until the favorites menu expands and drag it and drop it anywhere you want. Another way. If the Links bar is not visible, click the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Links

That rambling has me confused, I hope you can decipher it.
