thecow, some further input please

I got the shortcut to Word up in links. However, today every time I try to open Word I get the error message "Microsft Word had encountered a problem and needs to shut down." I even put the Word Cd into the drive to try to correct any possible corruption. I hear the opening music and then nothing. I thought possibly it was drive space so I cleared some room. Still no good. I have a petium 4 with a 60 giga byte hardrive. Any advice. Thanks

Additional Piece of info

I got into the Word cd through the "run" box. Ran the setup program, selected 'repair' and got message successful. Restarted computer and still get error message. I am really stumped.
