How's the diamond market? I heard it's doing well recently.
Is there anything investable out there?

Sonny,

The diamond market is very good. The demand in middle grade product is very strong. The high end is not that strong and the very promotional goods is not that strong. There is a short supply of finished goods in middle grade and rough to make finished goods.

Thus, the price of this product is increasing but I really can't think of an investment that can be made to capitalize on this.

I can explain the reason for the demand situation. Most people that are consumers in the very high end product have their stock portfolios lowered a lot due to the market. They are reluctant to spend $30,000 and above for a diamond. The promotional market demand came from typically blue collar workers that work in the manufacturing sector. Many are unemployed so they are not buying either.

Besides selling the "bread and butter" which is in demand, I am open to suggestions as to how to profit from this. Stocking up on more goods in this category could be risky. DeBeers owns a lot of rough for bread and butter that they have never put on the market. If they increase supply, well there goes the value.

Got me. Gold conumption in jewelry is at an all time high. Maybe something can be made there.
