You are concerned about "I think that Intel has a long ways to go before they deserve to be labeled the "US Steel of the 21'st century".

I think you have misinterpreted Mr. Prestbo's comments - perhaps I didn't relay them clearly - whatever.

His comment was that Intel made the basic product upon which most other industries build their products.

With US Steel in the first half of the 20'th century, they supplied the core material to build office buildings, automobiles, factories, and what have you.

Mr. Prestbo was comparing Intel to US Steel in this light - as the manufacturer of the basic building blocks of today's business.
