Bad day? The word "internet" is used both as a proper noun and a common noun. dictionary.com (Note: capital "I"). The Internet is the largest internet (with a small "i") in the world Maybe Bob made it up, but I do believe the story about Brad purposely leaving "internet" out of the spell checker. One thing is certain. Based on usage going back a number of years, "internet" should pass. It's true that when referring to "the" Internet it should be capitalized, but I find it hard to get too excited about that. If you're going to join the language police, try taking on a nobler cause - e.g. the widespread misuse of the word "infer". But if you really want to join the language police, you need to be more careful about those typos.
