wbmw, thread,

Here's another one from Briefing. What chipsets are these Ashok is talking about? Looked up financials on BRCM along the way: they've lost $12.80 a share in GAAP terms over the last year. Talk about an overpriced stock (in GAAP terms)!

10:57 ET Broadcom (BRCM) 46.43 -2.09: In a pre-open note, USB Piper Jaffray analyst Ashok Kumar argued that BRCM's ServerWorks is seeing its first serious competition from Intel (INTC) in one-way and two-way server platforms; Kumar says this could threaten Broadcom's strategy to use chipsets as entry points for gigabit ethernet and other products into server OEMs.

Interesting argument by Kumar, talking about server chipsets as "foot in the door" to customers with regard to their selling ethernet and other products to OEMs.

<it's time to buy! I'll consider putting a $30 limit order INTC.>

Good luck with that <gg>. As of today, I own 800 INTC $20 Jan 2003 and Jan 2004 put contracts.
