In the disk management utility, if you right click on your CD-ROM there should be a "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." option. This might be what you are looking for.

Change drive letter of cd rom before running partitionmagic 7.0. Strangely, none of the reviews of version 7.0 indicate this change that you are experiencing from previous versions . I think you can still use drive mapper to change the registry after making that change to the cd rom drive letter but before running partitionmagic. There is a patch out so you might want to use 7.1
