In the disk management utility, if you right click on your CD-ROM there should be a "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." option. This might be what you are looking for. Bob

Any ideas on how I might work around this so first new hard drive position is D Change drive letter of cd rom before running partitionmagic 7.0. Strangely, none of the reviews of version 7.0 indicate this change that you are experiencing from previous versions . I think you can still use drive mapper to change the registry after making that change to the cd rom drive letter but before running partitionmagic. There is a patch out so you might want to use 7.1
