I see you refer to the current administration as Bush/Cheney. Perhaps Cheney/Bush is more accurate.

Four Trillion Dollars from the projected surplus a year ago are gone.

Once again, Bush has exceeded all expectations. As I recall, a year ago we had tax breaks for all [top 1%] budget surpluses as far as the eye could see and we would still pay down the debt. Sounded pretty good.

Now we've lost $4T; we're trying to get the debt ceiling raised as soon as possible; and we're planning on deficits until 2005 [remarkably, projected to balance the budget after the next election].

It's expected that this coming budget [TBR; 4 Feb]will start off with $100B deficit. I can hardly wait for a year to pass on that one.

BTW: Barcelona was absolutely great. I'm glad we ended up doing Saville first; had we started with Barcelona, Saville would have been a downer. But Saville is very nice. Thanks for the tips. The cocoa place was not open when we got there, so we picked the closest competition on the same street....it's like liquid chocolate bars; I've never been able to use a spoon for hot chocolate.

How much of that 4 trillion is due to the recession, and how much is due to tax cuts?

Dashle is a liar, and so are most Demolibs. The loss in revenue is mainly due to the recession begun under Clinton's watch.

Hillary couldn't get elected in N.Y. now.

The war and the Clinton/Gore recession are mainly responsible for the current budget mess.

Hilly has never done anything "positive" in her life. She is a divisive hateful individual. You are hallucinating again.

Yeah. If it weren't for the Clinton Recession, that wouldn't be the case.
