I saw that - some idiots were running it up to almost 55
I tried to short there but I guess they ran out of
idiots.

What a casino in AH.

It is a casino afterhours...now - right back where it started.<g>

The one thing that catches my attention is that this is the second big semi equipment maker to provide a bullish outlook instead of saying we may be at a bottom. I am trying to balance this what I think is a market in which tech is not liked as it once was. The big funds have not loaded up on tech...although they seemed to like the semis within the tech sector...but valuations still high seems to be the consensus.

I am just wondering if the "smart money" is about to cover short positions--Nasdaq short interest is at record levels. There was a slight decline in the NYSE shorts--I think it was the first one in 11 months if I am not mistaken. Wonder if it is a trend.

note: SEBL seems to be going strong afterhours.

17:10 ET KLA-Tencor (KLAC) 53.00 +5.14: -- Update -- On their Q2 earnings conference call, the CEO says worst is behind industry, citing: better holiday consumer/PC sales, chip inventories coming into balance, chip prices showed relative strength in Dec, utilization is constrained in foundries, capacity for 0.18 micron is above 80%, and in general customer biz is geting better. Expects modest sequential increase in order patterns for the March qtr, and expects orders to improve in the 2H02.
