Henry,

I read somewhere recently that Argentina was at a par economically with the U.S. and Europe in the 1920's...I find this astounding.
I am somewhat a student of history and foreign affairs...and can't quite figure out how this info seemed to totally pass me by.
Were they also a military power in the 20's??
I had always envisioned that Brazil was the looming power in South America...although Argentina did have a fair amount of contact with Germany in the 30's and 40's...their contacts with Nazism were the only hints that I had that they were even involved with world powers.
Any expounding by you would be appreciated.
Chris
