equate a private citizen starting his/her own business with the "good old boy" network. I did not mean to equate these two items. I meant to state that the "good old boy" network is one way to start a business. The problem arises when it is the only way or primary way to start a business or keep a business going. The SBA is important because even when a person is motivated and willing it is not possible to penetrate the GOB network and receive the type of assistance necessary to succeed. The GOB tends to be different in different cities and often requires joining the correct golf course, bowling league, or religious organization. It may take some motivation for a person to locate the SBA but at least when they find it they should be able to get as much of the same kind of assistance as anyone else. TP
