If you express an absolutist opinion in an offensive manner, you can hardly expect a "well balanced discussion".

Picking a fight with Peter - who has been pretty courteous to you - over NBIX and SEPR was both rude and ill judged.

sj on SEPR/NBIX
That's a HUGE problem in the specific case you cite and it has been a pernicious and endemic problem in the BT sector for eons. When a investor reads a 'caveat' like that, he/she should stop reading immediately and move on. PERIOD.

sj on ARIA
There are dozens of BTs willing to publish on a timeline exactly equivalent to academia.
Other BTs feel the world is a vast conspiracy with hoards of competitors awaiting each morsel of revelation from their peers.
When I followed Ariad I had the impression they were among the elite of the former group, publishing many articles per year (including, invariably, some in Science/Nature/Cell).

Interesting to see which of the three did least to live up to its hype -

<<"Look at the charts of the vast majority of BTs during the period you cite.">>

SJ: I am not sure that you are aware that most people in this thread don't look at charts.<g> Although they may represent a graphic view of buying/selling pressure, it is not considered a scientific method to evaluate a stock prognosis.<g>

Regarding ARIA I remember well its "run" from 6 to 48 but it took it several weeks to accomplish it.<g> (from the last week of January to the first week of March 2000)

In the last week of November 1999 it took ADSP only one day to go from 4 to 57.<g>(It closed at 23, but I was glad I was able to sell above 50.<g>)

Those were other times indeed !!! Before the BBB.<g>

People that don't follow price action, may not be aware that in spite of its long term value SEPR has been on a "down-trend" since its H at 60 on December 28 and that if the price dips below 47 it may see some more selling pressure from those "chartists".<g>( At present it needs to close above 55 to have a better "chart pattern".<g>)
