Not so sure about hoarding gold. China is traditional gold buyer as is India a silver buyer (their population) and still 4 billion people loving those metals are not able to rise the price.

BTW related to your previous post regardign the technical related Euro selling I am not so sure the Euro dropped around 3.4% in 2-3 weeks......... and I do not count Europe as a BANNA REPUBLIC nor were they in a recession like the US with anticipated GDP of ( - 1.5% ) last quarter.
