R..."it matters to me because it strikes at the heart of how Americans trust their institutions. "
That's the true Heart of the ..matter......
PBS Frontline's "Dot Con." (aired recently on TV...)
.....showed just how All out Greed and Lack of Ethics became the Standard in the the Major Houses
Goldmans...CSFB..Merril...Lehman's ect ....were all named as the Players whose 'advise' led thousands and thousands of investors to the poor house.......
They wont be back imo........
I feel housing has held up because people want their hard earned money invested in something that has real value...not in something that is subject to out right fraud........
the ENRON circus is just one more 'Bright and Shining Example' of The Way IT Is ........
The American investing public's Trust was not Broken...
It was Stolen
Stay Well

Still short QQQ although covered for a profit Wednesday AM and reentered this morning.

Added to NEM...10% gain thus far.
MRK...4% gain thus far.
Enetered AMGN on Wednesday...7% gain thus far.

Since last Friday:
QCOM....-7.8% loss thus far.
(I do not own nor have a short position)

The point being is that it is bad for one's portfolio health to fight the market. With nearly every single thing attached to telecom from service providers to chips continuing downward (Kyocera and Leap Wireless made new lows today), it would be prudent to re-evaluate LTB&H positions in this area.

Good luck.

I am short two stocks (won't mention those cuz I don't think its a good idea).
Short QQQ.
Long on NEM.
Bought long MRK at the close today with tight stop loss. Not interested in visiting the low 50's.
Closed out a profitable trade on OIH today.
I'll come back next Friday and tell ya what I did.

What you say about QCOM is true. But it doesn't mean you'll make money on the investment.
