Did you use NAV before? How does AVG compare? Does it do anything better? Does it screen e-mail? I've never been able to make NAV work with MSN e-mail

Yes, I used Norton before finding AVG. It was recommended highly by one of the newsletters that I receive. With Norton 2002 installed I lost the ability to use System Restore so was searching for a replacement. I don't know what Norton cleaned up that apparently hosed SR but I think it was Win Doctor. Norton System Works has several utilities that I used that are no longer available with XP. Those reasons and the fact that AVG is free are the reasons I decided to try it. I found that it uses less resources and never had the problems with Live Update and fake virus downloads that are common with Norton. It screens incoming and outgoing emails. It can be set up to automatically retrieve new defs and program updates and run a weekly scan.

Since I paid for Norton I still run it at work on the hosed system restore computer with MSN email. No problems there.

Oh yeah, did I mention it was free? I like free.
