re:"In the interests of world peace, I would suggest the USA over zealous application of Iraq sanctions be stopped, as it only hurts the Iraq civilian population..."

What makes you think life will be any easier if the sanctions are lifted? I believe, the majority of Iraqis are Shia (who rebelled against the government after the Gulf War). Its not as though Iraq's leader has a history of "forgive and forget".

>>>Iraq is developing WMD, and Saddamn & Co are wackcos.
Time to change the tune from 10+ yrs of doing the same thing and hoping for the best (good try but didn't work) <<<

Can anyone clarify the adjustment made in the sanctions (I think last month)? My faulty memory suggests something was fine-tuned that runs out in June, and somehow involved Russia and/or GB.

The sanctions have little effect on Iraq's civilian pop.

Saddamn Hussein can sell as much oil, as he wishes, for the benefit of the Iraqi people. The fact that he doesn't chose to, is his decision, sanctions or not.

I agree. Dangerous wackos.

The sanctions have had a significant impact on Saddamn's military capabilities. I think there is going to be a change of tune, shortly. We might find out more about it in Bush's State of the Union speech Tuesday.
