wbmw, did u think that they may be comparing it to a 200Mhz Tbird? The desktop pally is probably rated against a 266Mhz Tbird.

WBMW, >What do you think of the point that I brought up earlier? AMD seems to think they can get away with calling their new mobile part a Model 1500+, even though it runs at 1.3GHz on a 200MHz bus, while their previous Athlon XP 1500+ ran at 1.33GHz on a 266MHz bus.

Well, one point is that since we rarely see benchmarks on notebooks, they probably feel little risk in over-specing the thing. So, gggl on Lycos AMD, a very staunch AMDer (who may or may not have another moniker here, would guess not) thinks this 1500+ offering is bad news for AMD's 0.13 effort:

This new A4 news is actually quite bad news. Notice that its produced on 0.18. This probably means we won't se mobile A4's on the 0.13 process till the end of Q1.

neye, the point I was making with 0.13 is if the mobile parts don't hit the market till the end of Q1, we will probably not see 0.13 Athlon XP's till the end of Q2. This will give Intel a chance to stomp on AMD's high ASP's with their 0.13 PIV offerings.
