Peter, regarding Jonathan's question on the technicals of the BBH, what is the name of the other BT index that was created last year and that is not weighted by market cap of the companies in the index? (General question: not for Peter, as you eschew the technical-oriented discussions, Bernard's efforts notwithstanding <g>): Is the trend/moving average data for that younger index essentially tracking that of the big-cap weighted BBH?

"So we have short runs at AFFX, IMCL (deserved) and ELN, too name only a few. ELN also being shorted to high heaven in front of earnings next week. Pretty amazing what can happen when valuations are based on DCFs years out."

Thanks, Jon. First, do you have a link for NYSE short interest? Second, do short interest figures include all the exchanges on which Elan is listed? Third, why do you think earnings is the story, instead of AN-1792 and Enron-phobia?

For the record, I've owned ELN three times and have never shorted it nor bought puts nor sold calls. I think that Peter was right to say that Elan will never again fund a recycling research JV. But -- the existing ones will take some time to unwind, and the earnings hit will happen over time.

I'm looking to buy 'em again.
