thats what I said, but when RYDEX hits real extremes, then its a good barometer for turn.

Shack, I think you're right about Rydex

Too frequently we try to be the smart money by doing the opposite of what the perceived not-so-smart-money is doing, but in a trending market the trend is still your friend, whether it's dumb money moving it or whatever. We always have to remember that no matter what, the big boys are always the ones moving the market, not retail traders.

Sometimes we can be too contrarian for our own good, no?

I have a different theory about Rydex. I think the money that has flowed into Rydex since September, and is is substantial, is smarter money. Still, we have both abandoned it as a timing tool.
