skeeter, please tell me you are not that stupid. if you read what it says in the book, he described it as a low-carboydrate diet. sears refers to his zone diet as "moderate" carbohydrate, and "low-fat". the diet he described was quoted as "a massive amount of fat", that tells you that the low-carbs were replaced with a significant amount of fat. the reason he didn't cite the exact number of carbs in the study is because they were far lower than he recommends, and that wouldn't suit his needs now would it?

your logic is really lacking. let's just drop the issue, you can't even conduct a reasonable discussion of the facts, and you have still failed to present any evidence showing that low-carb diets are harmful to endurance. the best you can come up is some e-pinions from some idiots who tried atkins and made comments like their boyfriend opens his mouth and chugs whip cream straight from the can. obviously they are total morons who are not following atkins properly. those cans of reddy-whip or whatever he chugged have lots of sugar added to them. atkins would never recommend eating that garbage. and then you wonder why they write some unfavorable e-pinion about atkins.
