THE WATSONYOUTH - You wrote Intel was paying some of the ex-designers contract wages (>$200/hr) to explain to them what Strong Arm really was.

With Intel's current StrongArm success - and their forthcoming XScale CPUs - Intel did a great job of learning what StrongArm really was.
And the designers that left - to Alchemy - appear ready to go out of business - unless AMD bails them out.
Guess who got their money's worth?
Monica

Experienced design teams??? No. Most of the experienced designers including ALL the key designers from the Strong Arm group left either just before or just after the Intel takeover. I worked with one of them.

Well I've worked with them too and they weren't phantoms. Yes some left but there were more projects than just StrongArm going on in Hudson. I've been to Hudson a number of times and worked on a number of products including some StrongArm embedded versions and there are many designers left over from DEC.
