ABN AMRO: sell TLAB and buy SFA : ABN AMRO recommends a pair trade of selling TLAB and buying SFA; both stocks are viewed as value/growth plays, yet firm believes SFA is stronger regarding addressable mkt, growth rates, competitive position, and new mkt opportunities (SFA has a "breakaway" opportunity in Germany, especially). Price target for SFA is $35, reiterates Buy on SFA and Hold on TLAB.






Advanced Fibre Comm (AFCI) 17.58 -0.73: After close, reports Q4 earnings of $0.06 per share, in line with the consensus estimate; reports revenues of $82.1 mln versus the consensus estimate of $83.4 mln... On call, says it is early still, but it is encouraged by the activity it is seeing across its entire customer base (Sprint and Verizon were its only 10% customers in Dec. qtr)... accordingly, it is re-affirming guidance provided in October for FY02 revenues to be $350-370 mln (Multex consensus is $357.9 mln) and EPS to be $0.30-0.35 (Multex consensus is $0.32)... Expects Q1 revenues to be $78-81 mln (Multex consensus is $79.2 mln) and EPS to be $0.04-0.05 (Multex consensus is $0.05)... AFCI -0.08 at 17.50






Digital Lightwave (DIGL) 6.80 -0.01: After close, posts a Q4 pro forma loss (excluding items) of $0.15 a share, $0.03 worse than consensus. Rev fell 84% yr/yr to $5.4 mln, exceeding $5.13 mln consensus. Promotes Jim Green to COO post.
