It was the usual touchy feely stuff that they all do for the State of the Union. The speech was status quo and nothing new was introduced.

I did not like Bush using the State fo the Union to mention that we will be attacking other countries whether our allies like it or not.

I do not want this country to become another Israel and I am afraid that is what is happening. One only needs to look at Israel to realize that "kicking butt" doesn't end terrorism..it escalates it. We aren't talking about large armies with big guns and ammo.........these are crazy people who don't need alot of ammo to accomplish their missions.

Also, I wonder how Bush is going to do everything he promised............run deeper deficits? I cannot support the deficit spending spree. The contacts that go into the private sector are loaded, pork barrel, spending sprees and much of the contracts aren't even needed.

Most of his exact plans were not outlined as to the specifics which is where the true test of the pudding lies.

I also do not like his religious overtones to his moral statements. The use of the word,"evil", makes me cringe. The rally cry for terrorists gives the United States a term synonymous with evil.......aren't we called " The Great Satan"? The use of those words just serve to inflame others and of course rally the Christians. It amazes me that Christians rally toward war .

His talk of sending American goodwill ambassadors into Arab countries sounded ridiculous to me. I cannot imagine anyone putting themselves at risk by going to an Arab country as a goodwill Ambassador. Maybe 30 to 40 years from now if things settle down,,but our fundamental differences are too far apart right now for it to be safe. Hamas and Hezbellah would have a field day with Americans. Look at the lives of the Israelis who live close to Arabs!!!

Most of what I wanted answered was not addressed by the speech........but the State of the Union speech rarely does anything more than try to give a "touchy feely" message.

Colin Powell didn't look very happy at all.In fact he looked like he was gritting his teeth through the whole speech.

This country is becoming an oligarchy.......and I don't like it. We have had many civil rights eroded over the last few months. He did not address the issue that this loss would be temporary...........because it won't be. We are moving into an era where this country will change it's core system.

Also, if Bush calls our exercise in Afghanistan a war..how come they don't treat the detainees in Cuba like prisoners of war?

Bush's policies will move us into a greater divide between the rich and poor. I don't have time right now to discuss it but I am afraid that we are moving away from Democracy....far away. I can actually see how this country can implode on itself and that is scary to me. I was never able to see that before.

In Star Wars , Luke so often makes a statement, " I've got a bad feeling about this."........that's how I feel. We're into some deep doodoo.
