Harvey,

P3 1.4 GHz is Dell PowerEdge 1500SC which has a ServerWorks chipset, but the CPU's FSB is limited to 133 MHz.

Athlon 1.4 GHz is DDR based, with 760 based motherboard (Gigabyte). Athlon XP 1700+ (1.46 GHz) uses one of the newer generation DDR chipsets (Sis or Via). Mobo is Epox 8KHA+.

Joe

Harvey - You wrote In the real world I think the Athlons and XP's would reverse the role with DDR.

Why then does Compaq sell Athlon XPs with SDRAM - and not DDR memory?
